Thank you for another successful Helping Hands Midwest event. It always takes me a few days to emotionally and physically process the impact of our event. As I reflect, my heart is overflowing with gratitude, joy and elation. Thanks for making the trek to Harrison, Ohio and more importantly for sharing your dear treasures with us. What an occasion is it is to come together and celebrate these blessings in our lives. We are so very blessed!
For those of you unable to attend, I made an announcement letting folks know that I’ve decided to pass the torch. What I mean by this is that I will no longer be coordinating and hosting the Helping Hands Midwest Picnic. I’ve grown this event as far as I can take it and it’s time to let someone else put their spin on it and take it to the next level. Molly Stapelman of the Lucky Fin Project will be coordinating the event for 2016 and beyond. I’ll continue to work with Molly and as plans develop, I’ll post information on this page and www.HelpingHandsMidwest.com to help with the transition. In the mean-time, be sure to connect to the Lucky Fin page or www.luckyfinproject.org.

Check out this post from Candida Fuson Sullivan - she's nothing short of a gem. It's a treasure to have her at our picnic.
As I read through all of the beautiful and heartfelt messages, my heart is filled with joy. For seven years, publisher after publisher rejected my books and told me that Zippy wouldn’t work. One agent even declared that my personal story didn’t have the ability to touch anyone’s heart. Currently, my books have been enjoyed worldwide!
I’m so thankful that I didn’t give up on my dream because, at times, I wanted to. And I sincerely hope that you won’t allow anyone to stand in the way of your dream!!! Certain people will always find a reason to hate and discourage us, but at the end of the day we need to love and believe in ourselves. And follow the whispers of our heart. We were all created for a great purpose, and God has great plans for us all. We just have to be patient, work hard, and wait for Him to bless our efforts. Dream Big!!!
In this picture, I'm sharing my story at the Helping Hands Midwest Picnic for limb differences.
Thank you everyone who attended the 2014 picnic and concert. My hope is that everyone went home with their heads held high, a smile on their face and hearts exploding with joy. (I know my family certainly did.) I appreciate all the effort everyone made to attend the event; your participation is a treasure and a blessing to so many. Making plans for 2015.... stay tuned. Kim
Thanks for the kind words Candida Fuson Sullivan - You are a tremendous blessing. Thanks for making the trek.
