Not sure what to do with those extra tomatoes, peppers and zucchinis when they start growing like crazy? Here's an idea.

And, a continued thanks to all who have been dropping off canned goods and personals at my office for the pantry. Our neighbors are grateful for the shared resources. If you come by and the office is locked, feel free to leave nonperishables outside my door.

If you're looking for a way to support your nervous system, move your body and have some fun, check out this Multicultural Day of Drum and Dance on June 27 from 12-5

All ages welcome. No experience necessary.

Dance and drum is a great way to get your Qi flowing. Certainly, one of my favorite ways;)

National Geographic (May 2026) just published an article on how acupuncture needles trigger measurable, body-wide responses — activating immune cells, releasing pain-modulating chemicals, and altering brain activity.

A team of researchers led at the University of Illinois Chicago just completed the world's first double-blind acupuncture randomized control trial — finding that real acupuncture provides pain relief lasting up to 12 weeks, compared to just 4 weeks for sham acupuncture.

Nice to see that modern science is finally catching up to ancient tradition.

Melissa Etheridge still rocks it! And check out her drummer's set. The Taiji symbol of yin and yang caught my acupuncturist's eye.

Thanks to everyone who joined our free Zoom session on nervous system regulation yesterday!

We offer these because positive social connection is one of the most powerful ways we regulate our nervous system — and that's not just a nice idea, it's biology.

It's also the reason Finding Your Anchor is a group experience.

If you missed yesterday, but are interested in joining the coaching series to gain support with your own nervous system regulation, check the link below. Spaces are still available and early bird pricing is open until April 23. 👇

Sorry -- got spammed by a bot and so need to remove our registration until we can change the Zoom registration .... If you're interested, Reach out by calling my office at at 717-303-8579

Spring is a great time to revisit your goals from the New Year, or establish new ones. There's so much possibility for growth, and nature gives us a great example of how to do that.

Nature doesn't belittle the flowers that didn't survive winter or the dead leaves dropped in autumn. She nourishes the sprouts that are coming up now. So, if you're hoping to grow your health, go with your strengths, rather than only seeing your "weaknesses."

Start by shining some sunlight on the healthy habits you have already. Maybe you prioritize sleep, or time with your friends, or you floss, or you exercise. (Well done you, btw). That's a great foundation.

Next, you might want to sow a few new seeds to nourish your diet, movement, and mindset.

Remember, nature sets positive goals that affirm life rather than avoidance ones. For example, consider adding a red/blue/purple fruit (good for your microbiome) each day rather than forcing yourself to give up cake.

Our brain and nervous systems respond well to positive goals like adding something, because it gives us a clear sense of direction, like the grass sprout reaching towards the sun. Also, our brains like new things, so if you choose a fruit you enjoy, you'll get a little dopamine hit from that experience and your brain/nervous system will crave more. Before you know it, you've added a cup of blueberries to your day without feeling deprived.

PS You might try substituting the fruit for the cake, however, sometimes our brain is so rewarded by the treat, it resists and then we miss out on creating a new habit. Remember, there's always time to w**d later. So start with the seeds and nourish the tender new growth.
