One of my favorite events I've had the honor to photograph over the past couple of years has been The Country Apple Orchard Fall Festival. From laughter and adventure to family traditions and community connections, there’s something special about seeing so many people making memories together.

Being a photographer is wild.

Someone asks what I do for a living and I say, "I'm a photographer."

📸 "Can you bring your camera to my event?"
📸 "Can you Photoshop my ex out?"
📸 "Can you make me look 20 years younger?"
📸 "Can you make me thinner?"
📸 "Can you remove my scars and moles?"
📸 "Can you take just one quick photo?"
There is no such thing as "one quick photo."

I've also heard these responses:

📸 "Photography is a hobby, what do you really do?"
📸 "My cell phone takes good photos too."
📸 "I'll just have AI make me look good."
📸 "I only need one photo, why do you charge so much?"
📸 "That's not a real occupation."

🎡 The composite image I created of the carnival reflection across Lake Ole during Harrisburg Days several years ago, is an image that I hope reminds people of the excitement, traditions, and memories that Harrisburg Days has created for so many families over the years.

While there wasn't a carnival this year, we are all thankful for the Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce and the many volunteers who stepped in to ensure Harrisburg Days continued for our community.

My hope is that with continued community support, we’ll see the return of an even bigger and better Harrisburg Days (and hopefully a carnival 🎡) in the years ahead.

And if that day comes, you can bet I’ll be there, camera in hand, ready to create the next version of this image. 📸✨
