Lily had a field trip to Home-Time Renovations on her second day of training. This is her first time meeting Carie and she was definitely stressed out. Rather than feeding into her fears I had Carie take the lead (not with her right hand because she recently had surgery) and just walk Lily around. As you can see the tail is still tucked but Lily was relaxed enough to obey the “sit” command. We still have a long way to go but I’ll keep taking these little victories.
Day Two: Today we worked on getting Lily comfortable with noises and fast movements (other dogs). I would say that she made a little progress. Yesterday she froze in one spot when she was uncomfortable.
Video 2 of 2 of Lily’s first day of training. Had help from Jenn and Hendrix today. Field trip to our favorite coffee shop, Bullfrog, and Tanger Outlets. Lily definitely relaxed a little and we made baby steps, notice her tail isn’t completely tucked.
Hendrix, a Labrador Retriever, went through our training a few years back. He has been coming back yearly while his family is away and we do some maintenance training with him during this time. This morning we’re working on his recall regardless of distractions or other drives kicking in.
This is Charlie’s 3rd 1:1 training session. During her last training session we taught her a “place” command. This week we worked on Charlie holding the “place” when someone knocks at the door and enters.
It was brought to my attention that Coco responded negatively to fireworks. So after using a speaker with the sound of fireworks playing, it was time to take her to the gun club. As you see things got better and she had less of a reaction but still needs some improvement.
Coco’s last day of his 1:1 On-Lead Basic Obedience Training. Today we worked on her recall while distracted by two other dogs, Kora and Emmy.
Video 2 of 2 with Coco, continued work to make sure that she doesn’t react to noises. We also worked on confidence building and trust.
Coco is a 9 month old, female, Black Russian Terrier and this is her 5th 1:1 training session. We took our training to The Home Depot to add additional distractions.
