28th ID's commanding general visited the Army Aviation Support Facility #1 at Fort Indiantown Gap, on June 9. The CG toured the maintenance area of the facility, observing different helicopters and the Soldiers maintaining them.

Soldiers with the 2-104th General Support Aviation Battalion, 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, conducted air insertion training at Fort Indiantown Gap, last week on June 3 as part of their Annual Training.

During the training, they demonstrated the moving parts of a fully functional air insertion, which could be the deployment of personnel, equipment, or dropping of supplies down into the field.

This past weekend, Sgt. First Class Tanna Sullivan, with the 28th ID band, sang the National Anthem at the Tri-County All-Star high school football game that took place May 22, at Manheim Central High School. The annual game features top graduating seniors from the Lancaster-Lebanon League competing against top players from Berks and Lebanon counties.

The Multi-Functional Reconnaissance Company with the 56th Mobile Brigade Combat Team, 28th ID, conducted New Equipment Training at Fort Indiantown Gap, last week on May 14. Soldiers with the 56th MBCT worked alongside soldiers from the 278th Mobile Brigade Combat Team, Tennessee National Guard, during the five-day training where they learned how to operate and maintain the PDW C100 within a Garrison and field environment.
The Systems are being fielded to the newly established Multi-functional Recon Company Unmanned Aircraft System platoon to serve as their company level intelligence, surveillance, and recon (ISR) systems.

28th ID Soldiers with the 2-104th General Support Aviation Battalion, 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, conducted Aerial Gunnery training at Fort Indiantown Gap, April 15, 2026. This training aims to enhance crew proficiency and combat readiness across the formation.

On May 17, 2026, the annual memorial service honoring the fallen Soldiers of the 28th Infantry Division was held at the 28th Infantry Division Shrine on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg.

The ceremony recognized the sacrifices of fallen service members and honored their Gold Star families. Veterans, currently serving military personnel, and members of the public gathered in remembrance and reflection throughout the day’s events. Visitors also had the opportunity to view several static displays of military equipment showcased on the museum grounds.
