Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Hildalgo County until 9:00PM.

The National Weather Service in Brownsville, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Edingburg, Mission, Pharr, Weslaco, San Juan, Alamo & Donna until 9:00PM. At 8:12PM, a severe thunderstorms was located 9 miles south of Hidalgo High School moving north east at 40mph.

Hazards: Gusty winds up to 60mph, heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. Stay indoors, away from windows and doors.

MAKING HEADLINES: Water rescues were underway Monday in north Weslaco as floodwaters overflowed streets, entered homes and forced residents to evacuate amid ongoing heavy rainfall.

CONTINUING COVERAGE: A second man was arrested in connection with an aggravated robbery investigation where a couple was attacked while purchasing gold, according to an updated news release from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.
