I made a few tweaks to my website for a cleaner and more concise look. The latest version now includes temperatures for cities across the Rio Grande Valley, tropical climatology data, and a new section highlighting my special GIS projects, which I will continue to expand as I work on more projects.
More exciting things are coming soon, so stay tuned!

Happy Father’s Day, RGV, Puerto Rico, North Texas and the San Francisco Bay Area!
I am a cat dad and I am spending my Sunday with my cat, doing what cats do best: eat, sleep and rest after working 7 days straight! 😅
My dad is no longer around but I am sure he would be proud to see the man I have become, even with my weirdness but, still proud! 😅
A few light showers and occasional rumbles of thunder remain possible later tonight before we shift into a drier and much hotter pattern starting tomorrow. Happy Father’s Day, RGV!
Lingering light showers continue across Hidalgo County. If you enjoy the rain, now’s the time to take in these last few pockets of activity, drier and hotter conditions return for Father’s Day and much of next week.
What a soaker for Harlingen! 🌧️
Lingering showers may stick around later tonight, but starting tomorrow, we begin a drying and warming trend. Yes… the heat is coming back like it never left. 😅🔥
And after all this rain, make sure to dump any standing water around your home. Otherwise, the mosquito armed forces will be deployed and ready for attack. 🦟😂
Some areas impacted by this afternoon’s storms have already recorded 1‑hour rainfall totals near 2.5 inches, and the hardest-hit locations are still seeing rain rates approaching 3.5 inches per hour.
Rain should diminish later tonight after 11 PM, but continue to use caution on the roads, turn around, don’t drown.
Many areas in Cameron County, especially Harlingen, Primera, Combes, and Rio Hondo, continue to receive heavy rainfall. Rain totals may reach 1 to 3 inches, and flooding in low‑lying areas is possible. Turn around, don’t drown.
