A little throwback from the time I participated in Harlem Week. What an honor it was to be apart of an event I grew up going to every year.

The Ode to the Black Fiddler Music Festival returns for its 10th Anniversary on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1:00 PM–9:00 PM at Harlem School of the Arts.
Over the past decade, OBF has grown into a vibrant platform celebrating the diversity, artistry, and impact of BIPOC string musicians across genres. We’re grateful to have you as part of this milestone year and appreciate your help in sharing the festival with your audience and community.

A quick little look down memory lane when I did the Hot Bread Kitchen culinary program. It’s crazy because after all this work and reading books and learning the language of the kitchen, I still used to call myself a social media cook. 👩🏾‍🍳

Until one day one of my customers said to me you know I tell everyone you’re my chef, best chef in the city. I was like I’m just a home cook and she was like girl your more than that. Just because you didn’t go to school for it doesnt mean you’re not great. Own Your Craft.

That’s sat with me. I do love what I do. One day I do plan to take it there and become a successful restaurant/ a safe haven/ a community restaurant ❤️❤️
