Open Arms Recovery Center
Open Arms Recovery Center is an outpatient substance use treatment facility offering more than just treatment - we provide real support for real life.
We remove barriers that prevent individuals from engaging in treatment.
Katie’s experience at Open Arms Recovery Center-permission to post. SHOW HER SOME LOVE! She is a MIRACLE!🙏💕
A little over 4 years clean. By the grace of God and with the help of open arms 🤗
I got my GED which I thought was impossible, I completed my CRS cert. an the confidence I gained during that class helped me feel I could do more so I’m currently enrolled for my associates degree to give back to my community. I went from a 8th grade education to making deans list last semester. I got full custody of both my children back, I am a home owner. I help guide several women in their own recovery and I’m always a ear to listen for my people. I got really into reading policy and understanding how that impacts everything we do from loans, to our children’s school and the food we eat. I hope to make a difference on that front with advocating for our people one day!
I also grow a garden and run a half homestead here in Adams County on a little under a acre. An hope to use that eventually for my people as well. 💪🏻 teaching them how to grow their own food!
None of this is possible without recovery. Which started at open arms recovery center with keisha, and then with Christina. As well as all the women I sat in those seats next to that held me accountable! If I didn’t have a place to show up on my bad days I never would’ve made it through my first year. 🩷

I am incredibly honored to have been asked to serve as a member of the Steering Committee alongside so many dedicated individuals who are committed to standing up for those in recovery and creating lasting change in our community.
Recovery is possible, but it takes all of us working together to break down barriers, challenge misconceptions, and fight the stigma that too often surrounds substance use and recovery. Together, we can create a community where hope, support, and recovery thrive.
A heartfelt thank you to the York Opioid Collaborative and the Collective Response Initiative York (CRIY) for this opportunity to be part of such meaningful work. The organizations are dedicated to bringing community partners together to reduce the impact of substance use and build a stronger culture of recovery and support throughout York County.
Please take a moment to learn more about their mission and the incredible work being done in our community:

When the world gives you strife, choose growth over defeat. 🌱
Life doesn’t always go as planned. There will be setbacks, disappointments, and challenges that test your strength. But every obstacle is an opportunity to learn, heal, and become stronger than you were before.
Keep moving forward. Keep believing in yourself. The storm won’t last forever, but the resilience you build through it will.
