Established 1977 The name Na-Lar stands for the founders first names (Nadine and Larry). It's pronounced Nay like day, and Lar like car.
Although its usually mispronounced. Larry decided he wanted the farm to be named that as a tribute to a fishing boat he owned in Florida after starting the farm

At 90 years old, he’s still a contributing member of Na-Lar Farms. Nadine and Larry Alexander founded this Jackson County farm in 1976.

Do you remember when mein fuhrer banned us from going to the gas stations ? She told us we couldn't buy gas for our lawn mowers, our boats, our roto tillers, our ATV's, etc... Because covid 19 was being spread on gas pump handles ??? Remember that ? She said we could fish in a canoe alone, buy alcohol and lottery tickets at a party store, buy pot at a dispensary... go for a walk alone, but stay away from parks. Why on earth would ANYONE reelect such a miserable dictator ??? She had it in her mind that we were too stupid to keep ourselves safe, and that she knew better. And she never walked back the bald face lie about gas pump handles.
Over the past 44 years Na-Lar Farms has put up a lot of hay. Today, Larry (at 85) delivered the bales home from the field. Adam’s finance, Teresa, has mastered wrapping the bales to ensure quality hay is sold.

The last 3 holstein heifers were loaded up and delivered to Treiweiler Dairy, Portland, Michigan, where our young cattle were purchased.
We started milking at 5807 Hanover Rd. on Nov 11, 1977, and officially Nov 1, 2019, we’re completely out of the dairy cattle business. It was a good run.
Grain farming has its challenges, too ......let’s see what the next chapter brings !
