Identity politics can be divisive and counterproductive, emphasizing group identity over individual merit that has consumed American politics. This can foster a culture of victimhood, stifle free speech, and lead to government overreach. By focusing on what divides us rather than what unites us, identity politics can erode social cohesion and undermine the principles of individual liberty and meritocracy that are essential for a free and fair society. Let's celebrate our individuality and shared humanity instead.
