💙 DBE — WHEN GENETICS CREATES AN EXTRAORDINARY LOOK

DBE (Dominant Blue Eyes) is a rare genetic trait that can produce striking blue eyes or heterochromia — when one eye is blue while the other retains a natural eye color associated with the cat’s coat and genetics.

BLUE EYES WITHOUT LARGE AREAS OF WHITE

One of the most fascinating features of DBE is that a cat does not need to be predominantly white to have blue eyes. The coat may remain almost completely colored, with only small areas of white.

These subtle markings may appear on the chest, tips of the paws, tail, or as a tiny spot on the belly. In some cats, the amount of visible white can be extremely small.

💙 EVERY CAT CAN LOOK DIFFERENT

The expression of DBE can vary from one cat to another. Some cats may have two vivid blue eyes, while others may have heterochromia — one blue eye paired with green, copper, amber, or another natural eye color.

This makes DBE especially beautiful when combined with different coat colors such as Chocolate, Cinnamon, Fawn, Lilac, Golden, Lilac Golden, and many others.

DBE is a beautiful example of how fascinating feline genetics can be. Even within the same line, the combination of coat color, eye color, and subtle white markings can create a completely different appearance in every cat.
