Gearing up for fresh vegetables this summer? Don't forget to take your reusable bags to the grocery or farmers market!
Precycling is a way to reduce waste by choosing unpackaged, reusable, or recyclable products while you shop. For example, choosing loose vegetables over plastic wrapped foods.
We love recycling, but remember: reducing and reusing should come first!
Tell us what you'll precycle on your next shopping trip.

One way to help the Chesapeake Bay is through oyster gardening. Did you know that Hampton City Schools students contribute to the bay's filtration through oyster restoration?

Yep. It's going to be hot. Then it's going to be hotter this afternoon with a Heat Index of 105. 🥵
Even if you're able to stay inside, still hydrate. Check on elderly or shut-in neighbors and pets. Avoid being outside in the hottest part of the day.
Consider putting some chilled waters in a cooler on your porch for delivery/postal/service folks. They will appreciate it! (Image from Love It and Leave It)
