We kick off our 2026 summer season this weekend at the PSP Summer Cup in Cypress at Dyess Park.
Tonight, we continue our “10 Questions with an FC Star” series featuring Monroe University commit and FC UTL/INF Makala Brown.
Makala will begin her senior year at Cypress Springs High School this fall. During her first three years of high school competition, she has earned eight varsity letters and been selected All-District three times in softball, including this past season in the highly competitive District 16-6A.
Get to know one of FC’s standout student-athletes as we put Makala in the spotlight.
We continue our “10 Questions with a FC player” series with one of the first athletes to take part, former Hightower High School standout Kourtney Jones-Caldwell. We say “former” because later this evening she’ll officially become a HHS alum as she prepares to walk across the stage at graduation. Kourtney will continue her academic and softball career at Langston University in Oklahoma. There’s a storm coming ⛈️
And no—she doesn’t have ants in her pants. The mosquitoes were just that bad that night 😆

Congratulations to FC star ⭐️ Crystianna Coleman on being named Offensive Player of the Year for Iowa Colony 💚🥎🧨. Crystianna captured the Triple Crown 👑 at ICHS, leading the team in batting average, home runs, and RBIs. Big-time production all season long.

Congratulations to Lauren “Bug” Leong on being awarded the American Legion Medal for Outstanding Academic Accomplishments. In a moment that says everything about her dedication, Bug left the field during tonight’s game to accept the honor—then went right back to competing. To say her parents Stuart and Nancy are proud is an understatement 🧨

Congratulations to FC catcher and Dulles HS star Stephanie Smith. Stephanie was ranked by Extra Innings Softball as the #8 uncommitted catcher in the Southwest Region which consists of players from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Arizona. For now, Steph’s focused on leading her Dulles High Vikings squad in the Texas state playoffs. Good luck Steph aka Lil Big Hurt 🧨 Extra Inning Softball 🥎
