Hi guys! This is a big week! The and markets are both doing huge fundraisers this week (weather permitting).

NO FARMERS MARKET THIS SATURDAY!!! You can still come see me in old town on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for Sail Virginia! It's a 4 day event (I'll be there for 3 of them). I have no idea where my booth will be, but come walk around and check everything out, it should be an awesome few days! ❤️

Super fun day at the market today! I found my old label maker and I went a little crazy re-labeling everything 🤣

I know I made a bunch of people happy with the lemon bars! 🍋 I normally only those out when the weather is cool, but I found the most perfect cooler the other day in which my existing containers fit perfectly, so I will start having lemon bars on Saturday! 😁

This was a challenging week! We had 3 back to back markets, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I am completely exhausted, and we're just getting started! We'll be doing this twice a month through September. It'll be a learning curve for sure! Holy cow!

We’ll be back on Friday, June 19th for one of the most meaningful events of our entire season — our Farmers Markets Giving Back edition, benefitting the Norfolk SPCA.

Kings Grant Farmers Market wants to say thank you for showing up today and bringing the energy that makes this market what it is. We’re not an every‑week market — we’re twice a month — which means every market day counts, and you proved that again today. The vendors felt it. The food trucks felt it. The whole space felt alive because you were here.

We take a quick break now, but we’ll be back Thursday, June 18th for something bigger than a market day — our 9th Annual Farmers Markets Giving Back food drive. This is the one where the community shows up not just to shop, but to help feed families right here in Virginia Beach.

Strawberry "short" cake 🍓

This cake took me on a rollercoaster! It originally started out as strawberry crunch cake. (Because the BFF mentioned something about strawberry crunch a while back). It was ok... Not my fave. I put it in the fridge, the next day I got it out and the crunch was dead. Fine... I wasn't emotionally attached. Put it back in the fridge. Got it out three days later. This time it was great!!! But at this point I was confused and I couldn't trust myself anymore, so I brought what was left to the farmer's market and forced some designated taste testers to try it. Everyone LOVED it and demanded more! 😁🥰

Now... I've been informed that I'm a little late to the 🍓 party (season's almost over), BUT I got plenty of strawberries at Lilley Farms and I will have this cake throughout June! BTW, they still have strawberries if anyone wants to go pick!

This is a big week! We'll be at the King's Grant Farmers' Market Thursday, Ghent Farmers Market Friday, and of course Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market on Saturday. See y'all soon!!

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE INFO: MONDAY, MAY 25
- YES, the parade will go on, rain or shine! Bring your umbrellas and join us in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice
- Start time 10:00 AM
- Parade runs along High Street from I.C. Norcom HS to Water Street
- The Grand Marshal, CAPT Derrek Burrus, Commanding Officer of U.S. Coast Guard Base Portsmouth), will be leading the parade
- Reviewing Stand will be at the intersection of High & Court streets (south side, between Trinity Episcopal Church, Portsmouth VA and Jimmy John's)
- Veterans viewing stand will be across the street on the north side (between The Mustard Seed Place and the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center)

Thank you guys so much for coming out to today!! I know it was so gloomy and drizzly but you guys made it a fantastic day anyway!! 🥰
