WVSU alumnus Earl Lloyd made history as the first African American to play in an NBA game, and in 1955, he became the first Black player to win an NBA championship with the Syracuse Nationals.

This year also marks the 75th anniversary of Lloyd breaking the NBA color barrier, paving the way for generations of athletes to follow.
