Without getting into it too deeply, our surprise blessing last Christmas truly saved my life. He gave me a reason to reset, reevaluate, and refocus on what’s important in life.

He also allowed me time to find this community of vintage resellers here on insta. Forever grateful for the new perspective this community has given me on selling vintage and the opportunity to dip my toes back in while I heal my body fully this time.

The room is still a work in progress (check stories for an insta v reality look), but it has become my daily reminder that I can do this 💪🏻

I’m proud to say most everything in his room is secondhand and have tagged some of the incredible shops I sourced the decor from 🖤 Each piece gave his room the collected feel I was going for and I couldn’t be more in love!

A love letter to all of you 🖤

As October’s comes to a close, I am looking back at this month with so much gratitude. I was able to check off some pretty big business goals this month (and much earlier on this journey than I had planned, like years earlier):

☑️ be a vendor at a market
☑️ sell 3+ pieces of furniture in a month
☑️ $2k in sales, and
☑️ $3k in sales 🎉🥳

Words will never be enough. You all, your support of my dream, your engagement in my content, every single purchase that has been made by you, mean the world to me and my family. None of this, NONE of it, would be possible without you.

I also have to give a HUGE thank you to Laura from Lily & Birch and her amazing team of vendors (who I’ve learned so much from), the incredible people at Lucketts for putting on two incredible markets each year (and inspiring this dream of mine), and the ladies at for taking a chance on a former teacher who started this biz on a whim last summer.

I cannot get over this paint color + drawer liner combo! This already beautiful federal revival buffet got a much needed makeover using Badlands by . It is seriously one of my absolute favorite neutrals! Plus, I personally think the original hardware looks incredible painted black!

The piece is sealed with three coats of polycrylic clear matte and thanks to the tips from the topcoat looks incredible!

how to make a small business owner’s day 🥹

i had the privilege of driving this beautiful petite sideboard to a customer visiting cumberland md a few weeks ago and had the absolute best time! not only was she the absolute sweetest human, the views on the drive were unbelievable!

because this was my first experience delivering a piece i’ve gotten accustom to not hearing feedback about my work. when i received her message this weekend i was so thrilled! for background, i’ve exclusively sold my pieces in retail stores since i started refinishing furniture last summer so my customer interactions have been next to none 🤷🏻‍♀️

all that to say i’m super grateful for josie, my first face-to-face sale from and my first official review from a customer! and for all those small business supporters out there, be sure to leave a review if you’re loving what you got! it’s a sure way to make that person’s day 🥰

this vintage cherry wood pennsylvania house hutch got a major upgrade with perfect shade of black: anchor! the color really makes the hardware pop (a mix of original and new hardware used) and gives the piece a more modern feel. plus i feel like the drawer liners tie the black paint and cherry wood together beautifully 🖤

the interior of the hutch has been black paint washed using .tn method and I’m obsessed! it provides another subtle layer of dimension that you just wouldn’t get if the original finish was left untouched.

but the best part? this beauty will be available september design market next weekend! (sept 20-22) come check her out and browse the beautiful two story barn, which will be decked out in allllll the fall decor! 🍂

thanks for joining me in stories last night to preview my booth! i figured since i mainly focused on furniture, i’d give you some detail shots of small items in my booth 🖤

creating vignettes + styling my furniture is probably my favorite part of what i do (besides the thrifting, of course)! it’s so satisfying to see the pieces i’ve thrifted tie the space together and bring the furniture to life! and, if i’m being honest, it provides an insane amount of reassurance that i made the right decision to start this business.

now, if i •m u s t• pick my top 3 smalls of this market, i think i would choose:
• brass duck head wall hooks (not pictured, but in my stories)
• the manual of gardening book (that cover tho 😮‍💨), and
• mini (orig art) windmill painting. so tiny + beautiful!

honorable mention to the two floral arrangements i made 💁🏻‍♀️

it’s been one hell of a trip around the sun for this lil biz of mine, but I wouldn’t trade it or the lessons i learned this first year!
