We are the Diokosophian Society which means "those who live according to the custom of wisdom" and our motto is "Sapiens Est Vis" which means 'Wisdom Is Power"

Harry Noble, a retired Hackettstown High School history teacher, partially restored a pre-revolutionary war stone barn that previously served as a jail and housed Hessian soldiers during the war. Join the Hackettstown Historical Society and Noble on Tuesday, October 4th at 7 pm for a presentation on Historical Restorations. This free community event is taking place at the American Legion on Willow Grove St and will be open to the public! Refreshments will be provided.
