Now known as CASA for Children of Bergen County, our program is to prevent abused and neglected children from becoming lost in the child welfare system. The objective of appointing a CASA Volunteer, a trained advocate from the community, is to ensure that the child's best interest is represented at all times. CASAs are appointed by a judge, to ensure that the best interests of the child are met. I

June is !!
There are children and teens within the foster care system who identify as LGBTQAI+, and some might come across greater challenges. Pride Month is a time for LGBTQ+ folks to gather and celebrate their freedom to live authentically. Let's always keep raising awareness and remember that LOVE IS LOVE.

It’s often the smallest moments — a packed lunch, a bedtime story, a ride to practice, a listening ear, and even playing with bubbles — that mean the whole world to a foster child. Stability, love, and showing up consistently can change a life.

Supporting foster children means supporting their emotional well-being, too. Healing starts with community. When we invest in the mental health of foster children, we invest in brighter futures.

eens in foster care often face adulthood without stable support systems. Many youth aging out of foster care struggle with housing, employment, education, and mental health. CASA advocates help teens prepare for independence and connect them with services and resources.
