What happens when a passion for Mahjong becomes a mission to build community?

Meet The Mahj Parlour, a Tupelo-based business founded by Nettie Tomlinson and Staci Bevill that is creating a space where friendships flourish, connections are made, and people feel a sense of belonging. Their vision recently earned them 2nd Place in The Pitch 2026, hosted by the Community Development Foundation.

At Renaissance Community Loan Fund, we believe entrepreneurship is about more than starting a business; it's about creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and bringing people together.

We're proud to have supported The Mahj Parlour on their journey and can't wait to see the impact they continue to make while "Making Connections One Tile at a Time."

📍 RCLF in the Community

Jeremy Martin, RCLF Community Outreach, Education & Counseling Manager, recently attended the Downtown Unlocked Real Estate Showcase in downtown Natchez, hosted by the Downtown Natchez Alliance.

The event brought together local agents, property owners, lenders, and community stakeholders to explore commercial, residential, and investment opportunities in the heart of downtown Natchez. Attendees also heard valuable insights from Dr. Rachael Carter of Mississippi State University on topics including community and economic development, tourism, market analysis, and public policy.

At Renaissance Community Loan Fund, we value opportunities to connect with community leaders, partners, and developers while learning about growth and revitalization efforts across the communities we serve. Events like these help us better understand local needs, identify development opportunities, and continue supporting stronger, more vibrant communities throughout Mississippi and Alabama.
