There are about thirty native species of blackberries and raspberries in CT. Flowering raspberry (Rubus odoratus) has the most beautiful flowers and can stand some shade. Easy to grow and spreads pretty quickly. www.quercusworksgardens.com

Looking for a no mow, native lawn alternative? Fragaria virginiana,is an incredible one. A quick spreading, little to no- maintenance fruit producing plant, wild strawberry plays host to more pollinators than any other native plant not named goldenrod or aster.

Monarda didyma is a hummingbird magnet. If you cut it back, you can get multiple blooms!
