Grove Garden Club

Some of our members enjoyed a treat and learned about two new endeavors of the Grove Public Library. An outside space and a Seed Bank program.

Belated posting about our September club meeting.
We enjoyed hearing from our speakers, Game Wardens Willman and Jenks! Thank You! Lots of questions were asked and delicious snacks were enjoyed by all ahead of the business meeting.

We learned a lot about Bees yesterday...who (except a Beekeeper) knew that Bees makes decisions in a democratic manner about issues such as replacing the queen or location of a colony? We were fortunate to have Robert Kashwer come speak to us complete with a live demonstration frame.
Our hostesses went above and beyond using recipes requiring honey!
We had crafty bee hives as centerpieces/door prizes and speaker gift.

Attendance was low at our last meeting on the 4.th of July...but the fun, food and creativity was not! Thanks to one of our own...Nancy Harper...we created some real masterpieces :-) Nancy also provided the centerpieces.
The food was creative and delicious.

Pictures from our last club meeting. Our very own Pam Jarrett taught us how to make cards with built-in bookmarks! Thank you so much Pam! Refreshments were "lish" as always!

A "close to home" field trip was enjoyed by 15 club members and one guest. We visited the "Cayuga-Splitlog Mission" church learning about its history from our awesome tour guide Nyta! Afterwards we enjoyed a picnic on the church grounds.

Another meeting is in the books! We have a series of three programs presented by club members going on! A big "Thank You" to Micheal McNew for providing a hands-on lesson on the various benefits of essential oils! We had fun and learned a lot!
Stay tuned for card making with our own Pam Jarrett next month and painting with Nancy Harper during our 4.th of July meeting!

There will be people who say you buy too many plants, those are not your people.

We had an informative and fun meeting. Dr. Bruce Frye and his wife Laura taught us about medicinal plants and what they can be used for. Dr. Frye is about to open a Wellness center in Grove and also has a retreat outside of town.
Looking forward to our next meeting!

Lendonwood workday has been postponed to next Saturday 4-1. Please help spread the word!

We had fun and informative visitors yesterday.
"Two Girls’ Tulips" came to share their journey with us.

We need a photographer! We only have pictures from early on. But...we had a good time! The theme was "Happy New Year" since it was our first meeting of the year. We enjoyed awesome decorations, and tasty punch and snacks. We played New Years Bingo with prizes and did not want to forget Valentines Day, so we folded Origami hearts. Oh yeah...and we had business to attend to :-)

A big "Thank You" to the "Flower Bar" for donating a centerpiece to the Lendonwood Volunteer Appreciation dinner held last night.
Shirley Daggett was the lucky winner and was just thrilled. Well deserved, as Shirley manages the gift shop in Lendonwood's Welcome Center!
