This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the commissioning of the USS Idaho šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Grateful to share the day with Ryan Fazio for Governor, and to connect with leaders from across the country, including Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao, Governor Brad Little, Congressman Mike Simpson, and Senator Jim Risch, who delivered remarks honoring Dirk Kempthorne.

A great flyover and a proud moment—congratulations to Commander Chad Guillerault and the entire crew.

Today we honor the life, leadership, and enduring impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His vision continues to challenge each of us to uplift one another, pursue justice, and lead with compassion through peaceful action. As we reflect on his words and example, we recommit ourselves to building stronger, more inclusive communities and working toward a future where dignity and opportunity are shared by all.

Great kickoff event—thank you to everyone who came out to show your support. Republican, Democrat, Independent, Unaffiliated, young and old… I am humbled by all of your support. This election is not about party labels; it’s about our home—one that I am honored and proud to fight for.

I have never forgotten who I work for—you. With your help and your energy, I will continue to do what I have always done: focus on the 18th District, fight for our working families, fight for our communities, stand strong against corruption, and be the balanced voice we so need.

The campaign starts here.
Join us for Heather Somers’ Re-Election Campaign Kick Off for State Senate on January 11th in Groton. This race is critical to counterbalancing one-party control in Hartford and ensuring eastern Connecticut has a voice fighting for low taxes, a more affordable cost of living, accountability for state government, local results and safe, prosperous communities.
