My latest N-Scale project - A scratch built lobster & fishing supply building. It was inspired from a building that George Sellios has on his layout.

Motif Number 1, located on Bradley Wharf in the harbor town of Rockport, Massachusetts, is a replica of a former fishing shack well known to students of art and art history as "the most often painted” and photographed building in America. The original structure was built in 1840 and destroyed in the Blizzard of 1978, but an exact replica was constructed that same year.

I have always been intrigued by this structure and decided to scratch build an exact replica of it in N-Scale. Aside from the building, I also created the stone wharf and made three boats (two lobster & one recreational) to complete the scene.

Note the quarter in a couple of the images to give a sense of size, along with a photo of the real structure.

I’m making progress by scratch building and recreating ‘Motif #1’ in N-Scale.

This is the famous fishing shack that is located in Rockport, MA.

There are still many small details to be added, along with weathering and making the Lobster Buoys, lobster traps and the stone pier that the building sits on.
