The Golfing Machine, LLC, all of it's Authorized Instructors and loyal followers around the world congratulate Bryson DeChambeau on winning his first major - The US Open at Winged Foot Golf Club.
Bryson was the only player under par for the tournament. His final score was 6 under par with his nearest competitor at even par was a sound performance. Winged Foot with its lightening fast undulating greens, deep rough and narrow fairways was a great challenge but Bryson met the challenge head on with a swinging (procedure) he has been working on for 13 years.
Bryson, began studying Mr. Kelley's well known book The Golfing Machine when he was 14 years old. Mike Schy, Bryson's long time instructor gave him a copy of it. Mike, studied The Golfing Machine along side Ben Doyle, GSED who learned the book from Mr. Kelley himself. Here is what Byson says about Mike -
"Mike has been like a 2nd dad to me. He has watched and coached me to the best of myself. He has knowledge you can understand and demonstrate to help you become the best player you can be!" - Bryson
Bryson's win at the 120th US Open is impressive in many ways and it validates Mr. Kelley's thought "When better judgement is the margin of victory, it is misleading to give unscientific procedures the credit."
Mr. Kelley also stated "Power and control are scientific and geometric (plus the edition of biomechanics) and are proportionally and progressively dependable. Sheer determination or sheer muscular effort are helpless - except when directed at mastering the procedure which can bring acceptable results." This seems to be the direction Bryson is heading but without his understanding of the geometry of motion, the action and force of physics he would not be the same caliber of golfer we see today.
We wish all the best for Bryson in the coming months and years with more success and hopefully a few more majors.
Below is the answer to a great question. I thought you might enjoy reading and learning a little more about TGM Alignments.
Thank you for reaching out to us at The Golfing Machine.
Here is the question you asked "Comments/Enquiries
Hi! I recently purchased your book and had a question. On page 95 (7-2) it is talking about The Grip and states, “1. The Left Arm and the Clubshaft in-line.” It talks about this to be established at impact fix. I was wondering, is this talking about from the face on view or from the down the line view? Thank you very much."
Not only is this a great question but oddly it is not asked very often and since we have at least two views, Face On and Down The Line, I would think it would be asked more often.
When viewing the golfer from Down the Line almost everyone has a two line view. This means that when viewing yourself from Down the Line you can draw one line from the hosel through the club shaft that will be shallow and another line from your left shoulder to your left hand and it will be stepper than the clubshaft angle. I know that "seeing" the left arm is difficult but you can make an educated guess as to where it is.
Now, when viewing yourself Face On at Impact Fix draw a line from the hosel to the left Shoulder (about where your bicep touches your chest) the clubshaft and Left Arm should me on the same line and in the same plane. This alignment is the clubshaft in line with the left arm and in totality it is the Primary Lever Assembly.

Good Morning from The Golfing Machine, LLC - Many of you have seen the outstanding play from SMU Senior Bryson DeChambeau who gives The Golfing Machine and Mr. Kelley credit for his ability to understand his swing. He won the NCAA and the US Amateur in 2015 and became only the 5th US golfer to win both these tournaments in the same year. He also represented the US in the Walker Cup matches last month. Although the US lost the Cup Bryson managed to win two of his matches and halved the other one.
Thanks for mention The Golfing Machine.
