85% of children diagnosed with severe NKH do not survive infancy. 💙
Let that sink in for a moment.
The babies who do survive face a lifetime of severe seizure disorders, profound intellectual disability, and a very poor prognosis. There is no approved treatment. No cure. Nothing that touches the root cause.
Drake and Vivian are survivors. But surviving has never been enough. They deserve to thrive. And November 2026 is their chance.

NKH is often diagnosed within the first days or weeks of life. 💙
Newborns with severe NKH typically show symptoms almost immediately — profound lethargy, breathing problems, and seizures that begin before a baby is even old enough to come home from the hospital.
Drake was diagnosed at two weeks old. Vivian a few years later.
Both times we heard the same words. Rare. Terminal. No treatment.
Both times we refused to stop there.

Roots grow in the dark. 💙
For years that is where we were. In the hard, uncertain, exhausting dark — planting seeds of faith and praying something would take hold.
It did.
November 2026. Drake and Vivian begin treatment. The tree is full and the fruit is almost within reach.

I have been trying to find the right words for weeks. 💙
