North Panola School District is moving forward with renovations to the North Panola High School Auditorium, and we’re excited to see this design come to life.

Last month we set aside two days for a firm retreat. All of us at Beard + Riser went over to Travelers Hotel in Clarksdale 🎶 and had some wonderful team discussions away from the office in a beautifully reclaimed historic building. We left the retreat with renewed inspiration, new goals, and a working plan that will strengthen our design process 📐!

We’re excited to share that one of our leaders, John Beard, is now working from a new office space in Greenwood, MS. If you’re in or near Greenwood and would like to meet in person, visit us at the Greenwood–Leflore–Carroll EDF building! 😄

Our Oxford office is still without wireless access, so we're unable to connect remotely to our server to work. Our team will be remote as they're possible until internet access is up. A small issue compared to some in our community who don't have power, electricity, warmth, food, transportation. We'll be doing our part as a business the next couple of weeks to help reach those folks with any assistance we can provide. We appreciate everyone's patience as we work our way back to normalcy. Oxford Lafayette University is strong, resilient, and caring. We're always happy to be a part of this community, but never more proud than now. - Dale Riser

Considering the recent arson attack on Beth Israel Congregation in Jackson, Mississippi, a historic house of worship that has stood as a pillar of faith and community for over 160 years, we stand in solidarity with all who cherish religious freedom and the safety of every community. Early this past Saturday morning, a deliberate act of arson severely damaged the synagogue’s library, administrative offices, and sacred Torah scrolls, though thankfully no one was injured in the blaze. Acts of violence against our neighbors are attacks on all of us, and we must always stand up to denounce hatred and protect our friends and fellow community members, no matter their identity. Beth Israel was the first synagogue in Mississippi and remains the only synagogue in Jackson, with a long history of resilience in the face of hardship and even past attacks on this sacred place of worship. Our hearts are with those whose sacred space has been harmed and who are healing and rebuilding in its aftermath. We have had the privilege of designing many houses of worship, and today we recommit to respect, unity, and the protection of every community’s right to worship in peace.
