To Our Customers:
As the State of Connecticut slowly reopens for business we want to take this moment to thank you for your calls, letters of support, and continued patronage. During this trying time the true meaning of community becomes clear, and we are grateful to be part of this community and part of your lives.
Like so many small businesses, we are refining what it means to be "open for business." Currently that means we are open by APPOINTMENT ONLY. If you have left pieces with us that you would like to retrieve, we can arrange curbside pickup. If you would like to bring your items in for us to work on we can schedule an appointment. Please call (203) 869 - 4244 or email [email protected] so that we can arrange a time to help you. We are striving to be flexible in our response to this evolving situation in an effort to serve you while making safety our top priority.
Rest assured we will continue to restore those special family heirlooms or new treasures, bring to brilliance pieces long tarnished, or provide that perfect, unique gift. Our goal is to keep shining!
Thank you,
The Fakundiny Family

We at Silversmith Inc. support the Black Lives Matter movement. We are committed to educating ourselves and working toward being better allies to the Black community. Over the past few weeks we’ve been researching the history of African American silversmiths. This elegant teapot is one of the few surviving pieces made by Peter Bentzon. He was a free African American silversmith who honed his craft as an apprentice in Philadelphia from 1799 to 1806. He lived and worked on both the island of St. Croix and Philadelphia. His fascinating story is one that should not be overlooked. This teapot is in the collection of the Smithsonian.
