Meet Gigi! ❤️🐾

Gigi is a sweet 5 year old Staffy mix with a big heart and an adventurous spirit. She loves exploring, being by her person’s side, and giving the biggest hugs when she feels safe and loved. She’s an escape artist, so she’ll need a secure home and someone who will keep a watchful eye on her. Gigi will need some time and patience to decompress, and storms can be scary for her, so she’ll need someone who can be her safe place when the thunder rolls in. She does best in a home without children, but here’s the great news—Gigi has had weekend sleepovers and has done wonderfully!

🥰 She’s shown that once she feels comfortable, she can settle in and enjoy being part of a home. Gigi is looking for someone who will understand her, respect her boundaries, and give her the time she needs to trust. In return, she’ll give you her heart, her loyalty, and plenty of those precious Gigi hugs. ❤️🐾

I got our final bill.

And I think I threw up.

I was expecting that we still owed around $3,000 for Reign’s care.

We owe TWICE that.
$6747.

I don’t even know how else to say this: we HAVE to keep paying this bill down.

We cannot continue saying yes to animals while carrying an enormous unpaid emergency vet balance. If we can’t get this balance down, intake closes again.

And when a rescue like ours has to close intake, it isn’t just an inconvenience.

Animals die.

The dog hit by a car.
The puppy dumped on the side of the road.
The mom with babies sitting in a shelter.
The injured dog whose only chance is someone saying, “Yes. We’ll take them.”

We desperately want to keep being that YES.

Reign deserved every single thing we did for her. We would make the same decisions all over again. But now we have to finish what we started and pay for the lifesaving care that gave her that chance.

The requests for pregnant moms, nursing moms and tiny babies keep coming. And having to say no is absolutely crushing us. It’s ALL I’ve seen today, to the point of just sitting in tears because we have been working on a beautiful nursery to save them, but we don’t have the willing hands to assist with the care.

These are the ones we WANT to say yes to. The moms trying to keep their babies alive. The newborns who don’t stand a chance without somewhere safe to go. 💔

But we cannot save them without FOSTERS.
