For more than a year, Kesavar didn't leave his home. The effects of leprosy made every step painful. He watched from inside while his wife took the goats out alone.

Today he's walking again. Custom sandals from one of our Christian partner hospitals protect his feet and keep him moving. He's back with his goats. Back to work. Back to being the provider he always wanted to be.

Did you know? At one of our Christian partner hospitals in India, specialists use 3D scans of patients' feet to design custom protective sandals.

The insoles redistribute pressure to protect nerve-damaged skin from ulcers and infection. For people living with leprosy, a single pair of well-fitted shoes can mean the difference between staying home and walking again.

Mariama is 70 years old and lives in Ghana. For more than two years, a neglected tropical disease caused painful swelling that went undiagnosed and untreated.

No one came. No one knew.

Until a community screening team from one of our local partner organizations arrived in her area. They sat with her. They assessed her condition. They taught her exercises and showed her how to care for the swelling at home.

After two years, someone finally showed up.

Kesavar is a goat farmer in India and a father of four. When the effects of leprosy made it too painful for him to walk, he didn't leave his home for more than a year.

"I helped a bit at home," he says, "but I felt bad that I couldn't go and work."

A local clinic recognized his condition and referred him to one of our Christian partner hospitals β€” one that specializes in caring for people affected by leprosy. His wife joined him for every visit, and the care team never gave up on getting him back on his feet.

This month, a mother in DR Congo recognized her daughter's condition because of a poster. A woman in Nepal wept because someone remembered her. A health worker in CΓ΄te d'Ivoire sat on a front porch and taught a man to heal at home. None of it happens without this community. Thank you for walking with us. πŸ™

On a front porch in CΓ΄te d'Ivoire, a community health worker sits beside an elderly patient and shows him how to soak and treat his own wound. A self-care kit. Hands-on guidance. And the confidence to heal at home, between visits. That's what it means to restore someone's independence β€” not just their health. πŸ™

In Kwara State, Nigeria, churches are becoming the front line in the fight against neglected tropical diseases. Through the Faith Action project, pastors are trained to recognize signs of disease, connect their communities to care, and help break down the stigma that keeps people suffering in silence. This is what faith in action looks like. πŸ™

This is what it looks like. Under a tree in Ghana, a community gathers to learn about neglected tropical diseases β€” the signs to watch for, where to find care, and why no one has to face it alone. No clinic. No hospital. Just a trusted voice and a community willing to listen. This is how hope rises. πŸ™
