One of my sweet students is an excellent violist and often lamments about the fact that the viola repertoire is lacking significantly in comparison to the violins. I will be sad to see her leave this coming graduation. I wrote this in her honor for all the forgotten violist.

Test scores are important, but so is music education Budget cuts forced New Haven Community schools to cut its music classes. But the community stepped up and now it's back.

Adult String Classes
Group lessons are affordable, fun and a great way to meet new people - and just maybe being part of a group will give you that little nudge to keep practicing! Our next session is for beginners and will cover posture, holding the violin,viola, or cello and bow, basic technique, scales and fun music. You do not need to know anything about your instrument or music to attend this class - it is for absolute newcomers.
I'd like to emphasize the word fun - really! You probably won't even notice that every lesson is designed to build your skills methodically.
Classes start Tuesday from 7:00 till 8:00 @ the Palmetto Fine Arts Academy
