The Greene Foothills site will be closed on Monday, January 26th, since the GCSS is closed. Students will be able to work virtually, depending on power and internet availability.

Student Spotlight: Jocelyn Greene | Foothills RHS - Greene

Jocelyn Greene is a vibrant and enthusiastic 17-year-old with a deep passion for positively impacting her community. In her free time, she loves to listen to music and hang out with her friends. She currently works at Jeremy's Wings in Greensboro, where she energetically welcomes customers with a smile. She plans to graduate and attend college to earn a Master's in Psychology in hopes of helping others. Jocelyn chose Foothills because the staff cares and wants to help her reach her career goals. Her favorite things about Foothills are the positive attitude and helpfulness of the teachers, as well as having a flexible academic schedule.

We had so much fun at our Boots on the Ground Staff Kick Off. Our staff is family!

We’re excited to welcome our students back with a week full of energy, encouragement, and southern hospitality!
👢 Kick-Off Day Highlights (Monday, Aug. 11):
🎶 Music, tambourines, and “Welcome Back” fanfare as students arrive
🍽️ A delicious Southern-style meal — fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls, and peach cobbler!
🤝 Mentor Meet-Ups to help students set goals and build connections
📝 Students receive a custom “Boots on the Ground” Goal Tracker
🎤 Group session with Dr. Randolph to talk incentives and engagement!
🎁 All Week (Aug. 11–15):
🎉 Daily attendance treats (think peach rings, mini pies & more!)
🏆 Prize for the student who completes the most assignments
📞 Nightly encouragement calls & emails to help students stay motivated
📸 Social media features for Best Dressed Cowboy/Cowgirl and goal-setters!
📌 Let’s start strong and make this school year one to remember.
