Hailing from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Thorgrim continue to carve their own path through a raw fusion of doom, sludge and punk, enriched with dark and abrasive textures. Their sound rejects overproduction in favor of immediacy and emotional weight, staying true to a vision rooted in authenticity and instinct.

With Puca, the band fully embraces this philosophy, delivering a record that captures the essence of their live energy without compromise.

“This album called Puca is about the pain and torment that shapes us all in life. It is recorded at Fox River Studio and Hinnendal Studios in Green Bay, Wisconsin in June and August 2025. It is recorded raw and live with no metronome, and no tricks. Thorgrim feels the need to record music as it is played live, mistakes, cuts and bruises. It is all laid out for all to bare.”

“Children of Doom” stands as a powerful introduction to the album’s bleak and visceral atmosphere, channeling crushing riffs and a primal sense of urgency that define Thorgrim’s sonic identity.

Following their signing to Octopus Rising and the release of their first single “The Movies”, Thorgrim confirm themselves as one of the most uncompromising new acts emerging from the US underground heavy scene.

💥 US Doom Punk Trio Thorgrim Sign to Octopus Rising; Unleash First Single “The Movies” 💥

We're proud to announce the signing of US Heavy Voyagers THORGRIM. New album to be released later in the year via our imprint Octopus Rising.

Hailing from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Thorgrim deliver a fierce and unfiltered blend of doom, punk and black metal atmospheres, forging a raw and unpolished sound rooted in emotion, instinct and real life experience. Formed in 2023, the band was born from the need to create music that feels honest, stripped down and alive, far from artificial production and predictable structures.

Thorgrim are built on the chemistry between Mike on guitar and main songwriting duties, Tom on bass and Colton on drums, with all members contributing to composition and lyrics. Their sonic identity moves within doom and sludge territory, infused with punk urgency and a bleak edge that reflects both their environment and personal struggles.

Since their formation, Thorgrim have already released two demos, the first a seven track collection in 2023 and a second expansive eighteen track recording produced with Jeff Hinnendal at Hinnendal Studios in Green Bay, Wisconsin, establishing the band as a visceral and uncompromising presence in the US underground scene.

The track introduces the band’s harsh yet human approach, where imperfections become part of the language and every note is played with intention rather than polish. On "The Movies", vocals are performed by Mayan, a guest singer invited by the band for two songs. While not an official member of Thorgrim, his contribution adds a distinctive emotional layer to the song, enhancing the raw and direct impact of the band’s sound.

With Thorgrim joining the Octopus Rising roster, Argonauta Records continues to expand its vision of heavy music beyond borders, embracing artists who put authenticity, emotion and sonic weight at the center of their art.

It’s true. Thorgrim is a savage beast wearing high heels and a tiara. It’s not what you expect and then when you start to expect it, they do a costume change and switch out the tiara for some Hulk Hands and an axe.
