Verizon Wireless customers report outage in Denver metro If you have Verizon Wireless, you might have some troubles with your phone Friday morning.

Always remember!!! When you set your clocks back, you should also be changing the batteries in your smoke alarms!

Communication Outage

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9/14/23

The Greeley Fire Department was notified that fire alarm monitoring for subscribers that utilize Central Security Communications was impacted by an outage in a portion of the communication network connecting subscriber fire alarm panels to Central Security. The portion that has experienced the outage is not controlled by or maintained by either Greeley Fire or Central Security. Central Security is working diligently with the service provider to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

This outage affects communications for a limited number of subscribers. Fire alarms will still operate as expected and initiate alarms in your facility, however there is no way to be certain the alarm is transmitted to Central Security. Greeley Fire is asking all fire alarm subscribers to call 911 in the event of an alarm, to ensure that a timely notification takes place.

Greeley Fire will continue to monitor the situation as our partners at Central Security continue working with the service provider to restore full service.

UPDATE: The fiber cut has been repaired. Service is back to normal.

Attention residents in Johnstown/Milliken and Platteville – the Weld County Regional Communications Center has been informed by Lumen that a cut in the fiber is impacting the ability of residents in these communities to call 911 for emergency services. Estimated time needed to complete the repair is unknown. If you live in these areas and are not able to connect with 911 for emergency assistance, please use your cell phone to call or text 911. If you do not have access to a cell phone and live in the impacted areas, you can call the non-emergency line at 970-350-9600.
