Quest for Glory I VGA is my favorite version of this game. Originally titled hero’s quest for the original EGA release, Sierra decided on a name change to prevent a lawsuit about IP infringement.

I collect physical video games, especially big-box PC titles from the 90s, because they show how games were found, sold, and experienced before online platforms existed.

This copy of DOOM was mail-order only. No stores. No downloads. You had to play the shareware version, fill out a form, and send it in.

I also make music for games like Empire of Sin, so understanding where games came from matters to me — creatively and historically.

Games don’t exist in a vacuum.
They tell the story of their time.
