UPDATE: The 2 bikes have been returned to the owners.

The Grayson Police Department has recovered 2 bicycles on the south end of Grayson. The bikes are relatively new and was recovered a few days ago. If you are missing a bike please call 474-4308 to identify the bikes.

At approximately 11:20 p.m. Sgt. Jason Hall and Ofc. Zack Kesee with the Grayson Police Department, assisted by Deputies Bobby Hall and Evan Knipp from the Carter County Sheriff's Office, responded to a residence on West US-60 regarding a warrant service on a Mr.
Travis Blamer.
After Officer's entered the residence and contacting Mr. Blamer, Officers found 2 ounces of m**hamphetamine, a small amount of ma*****na, and drug paraphernalia in his immediate vicinity. When Mr. Blamer saw the Officers, he attempted to tamper with physical evidence.
Following these events Mr. Blamer was taken into custody and charged with the following:
Trafficking in controlled Substance Is Degree 1st Offense >2 Grams Methamphetamine, Possession of ma*****na, Drug paraphernalia- Buy/Possess, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Fugitive From another State. In addition to a Warrant for Fleeing and Evading Police 1st Degree
- Motor Vehicle, Assault 3rd Degree- Police Officer, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.
Mr. Blamer was lodged in the Carter County Detention Center.

Christopher Carpenter is wanted in connection to an officer related shooting that occurred at 4:30 am, Monday, June 10th, 2024.

The Grayson Police Department has been made aware of and has an open investigation about counterfeit bills being used in several businesses in town. Please use every means possible to detect counterfeit bills before accepting large bills. The incidents thus far have involved counterfeit $100 bills. We strongly suggest you use currency validators to verify the legitimacy of bills. Some of the bills have passed the detector pen test, we recommend you do not rely solely on this test. There have been three incidents thus far. We suggest business owners stress to their employees to be on the alert for counterfeit bills.

On Sunday, 03/03/2024 at 6:42pm officers with the Grayson Police Department conducted a traffic stop. Upon further investigation Unit 305 conducted a narcotics investigation that lead to the seizure of 9.32 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 1.6 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, $1111.00 in cash.

The Grayson Police Department strives to interdict and intercept narcotics trafficking in the city. Officers with the Grayson Police Department work diligently to keep the citizens of Grayson safe and secure from illicit and illegal narcotics.

The person identified as Police Detective Casey Bowling with Grayson Police Department. Do not give any account info or financial info if you get a call. That is not a Policy of our Department.

On a recent traffic stop K/9 Toro was requested to assist another unit on a traffic stop. Toro indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. During the search a substantial quantity of m**h was located inside the vehicle.

Due to numerous complaints and pedestrians almost being hit by vehicles the Grayson Police Department will be monitoring traffic at Main St. and Robert and Mary Ave during the hours of 7:15am to 8:00am and 2:30pm to 3:00pm. Any vehicles that are stopped in the roadway will be cited. We reccomend sitting in a parking lot until you can enter the turning lane safely. Please share.

Wanted for questioning by Grayson Police Department in reference to a shooting that occurred on 11/18/2023 at 606 Bar and Grill. A firearm was discharged 4 times in the air, no one was struck or injured. We are currently interviewing one of the male subject's, the second has not been located.
