O Holy Night - Lead Trumpet Cover Arranged by Tom Kubis Originally written by Placide Cappeau, 1843 in Southern France. In 1855 the song was translated from French to English by John Sullivan Dwight. O holy night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining, Till He appear'd and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!
