Adopted 💜

Attention Lab Lovers…my name is Buddy. I was found roaming around a local airport looking for people to hang out with back in March. Luckily, I found a wonderful family who hoped I was chipped and tried to find my family. Unfortunately, I wasn’t chipped. Because I am such a sweet dog, it became my foster mom and dad’s goal to find me an awesome home. They got me chipped, neutered, UTD on vaccines, and started me on heartworm preventative. They also started taking me to positive reinforcement training sessions through Boss Babe Dog Training.

According to the vet, I am a 2-3-year-old all-black 70-pound lab (with maybe a little boxer mixed in). I rarely ever bark will if I need to. I love to go on walks and walk well on a leash unless I see a rabbit. I am still learning not to chase them. I also love to sniff my world and play fetch. Thanks to my foster parents, I know basic commands like sit, lie down, stay, look (at me), shake hands and I am working on “drop it’ and “leave it” along with the duration of stay and leave it. I am extremely food motivated and smart, and I am easy to train because I want to please my foster parents.

I am not sensitive to loud noises as I am around airplanes due to living at an airport. I am also not scared during thunderstorms. I sleep in my crate at night. My current foster parents keep me in the hangar and the shop. They have cats that aren’t thrilled with me. I don’t mind them when I see them through the window, but they don’t like me. Since they were here before me… In my foster mom’s words, “We have cats that don’t like dogs much less each other”. Because of the cats, I stay in the garage, shop, or hangar. When the cats are put up, I come into the house. I have good house and great potty manners.

Buddy’s ideal family would be active as he has a lot of energy and is still young. He will likely do best in a home with older children as he doesn’t realize how big he is. He gets along fine with other dogs with proper and slow introductions. If there’s another dog in the home, a younger dog around his age and size who also loves to play would be preferred. He would be perfect as a single pet if he is able to exercise via walks or fun games of fetch.

His current foster mom loves him because he is such a great dog and friend. They have poured so much time, love, and energy into him, but the cat issue has left him living in the hangar and shop. Since it’s starting to get hot, they realized they need to find him a good furever home soon. He’s a great pup and the trainers he’s seen also agree that he’s a good boy. If you are interested in making Buddy part of your family, please email us or fill out the link for the adoption application.
