Here at TAB, we absolutely adore books and inspiring readers of all ages to read for the love of it! We’re partnering with Raising Readers, Hachette Book Group’s urgent and long-term campaign to raise awareness about the alarming decline in the number of children reading for fun. Their campaign Reading is Golden encourages adults to read with children for 10 minutes a day to inspire a generation of lifelong readers. 📚 53% of children read for fun in 2012. By 2022, that number had fallen to 39%.

📚 Reading for pleasure has a greater impact on a child’s future than family circumstances, parents’ educational background or household income.

📚 Reading directly shapes academic results, emotional well-being, economic security, communication skills, happiness, and ambition.

📚 Reading to a child for just 10 minutes a day can make an impact.

Join us on Satuday, August 22nd from 2-4 for a FREE an in-store event with author and organic cottage baker Emily Harryman to celebrate her new book, Plain Jane Sourdough (releasing 8/18). Emily will be hosting a Sourdough Starter Demo so you can see how an expert maintains her sourdough, a Q+A, and a book signing.
