Job Search Kiss of Death

Unfortunately, it's really easy for us to harm ourselves during a job search and really ruin our chances. One of the ways that I've seen people do that is on LinkedIn.

They'll post complaints about their employer or about someone that they interviewed with, or they will post about what a hard time they're having during their job search. It actually makes you less attractive. It makes you look desperate or negative.

Don't post negativity on LinkedIn or on social media in general. What you'll find is that the recruiter and the hiring manager will check you out on LinkedIn, on Facebook, and Twitter. They will see if you have been really negative. Avoid negative postings of any kind.

Also avoid political posts of any kind and just anything that could be controversial because this is not the time or the place.

You need to put your best foot forward.
