Fidus Communities Dane Park Grapevine and Dane Park North Garland want to remind everyone that thousands of amazing, loving dogs are in need of homes this holiday season.
While it's a fantastic idea to welcome a furry family member into your home, we encourage everyone to first consider fostering. Fostering allows your family to understand what it means to be a pawrent, to learn more about a breed or age of pup you are interested in having around for their entire lifetime AND it allows the rescue or shelter the space to continue to save more dogs. There are many options when it comes to fostering: you can foster for short or long-term, you can foster-to-adopt or you can foster until the dog has been adopted! During this time, the dog has a home while getting prepared for their forever family and your family can decide if owning a dog is truly the right fit!
And don't forget! We all love a story!

Dane Park, a Fidus Community supports and welcomes the mission behind it: a day of global giving.
As a company built around dogs and supporting the human-animal bond, we proudly partner with over 80 of DFW's animal rescues and shelters and help their dogs find homes. Having no breed or weight limitations, we have removed the housing restriction barrier that has lead to owner surrender for far too long. With our Fidus Foster Program, we have helped dozens of dogs graciously land a temporary, loving home.
Giving Tuesday is a time to support organizations that hold a meaning in your heart. Please consider helping an animal rescue or shelter today, and allow them to continue the pawsome work they do daily to save the lives of innocent animals!

Big and small, we love them all!
At Dane Park properties, we know furbabies are just as special as those with 2 legs. There's a reason we were awarded 2023 Most Pet-Inclusive Company! Come by for a tour of either Dane Park Grapevine or Dane Park North Garland and allow us to show you the Fidus difference.

Trust us, you do NOT want to spend the day or night at the vet due to your pup getting sick on food they cannot eat!
There's a lot of food associated with Thanksgiving, and sometimes we want to share with our furry family members - but some foods are poisonous to dogs. Take a look at the second picture to understand what you must be sure your dog does not ingest this week. It's better to be safe than sorry, so if you're not sure exactly what is in the delicious food on your plate, don't share it with any dogs in the room!

The holidays have arrived, and while we may enjoy having our friends and families over, this can be stressful for our 4-legged family members.
Allow your dog a little space of their own to retreat when they need the space to decompress. It's important to give them personal space, especially when your home becomes noisy with the festivities. Create a warm and inviting spot for your dog in a separate room or in a corner. You can use a crate with the door left open or a soft bed and put their favorite toys, a few treats, pillows and blankets so they can cuddle up and even play soft music. Not all dogs are a social butterfly, so read your dog and understand when they may need a little break.
Fidus Communities Dane Park Grapevine and Dane Park North Garland wish everyone a happy holiday week!

It's Fidus and this little smooshy face needs a home!
Meet Georgie from Legacy Humane Society who is hoping his head tilt will raise the question "where is my forever family?" amongst everyone! Georgie is a Staffordshire Terrier mix who will need some help learning the basics of being a great pup! He is doing well with leash training and has made some doggy friends at the shelter. He’s fun and loves people and seems like he would really enjoy training and learning new things – he’s a smart one! Would you like this wrinkly face in your life, even if temporarily? He would love to be fostered for the holiday!
Fidus Communities Dane Park Grapevine and Dane Park North Garland love to strengthen the bond between people and dogs. Fostering is extremely beneficial for dogs in shelters, as they are given the opportunity to decompress and learn to love again. If you can foster Georgie, or another pup, please apply here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/foster-application/

Fostering Saves Lives!
DFW is experiencing a crisis: animal rescues and shelters have been over capacity for far too long. They are unable to keep up with the intake of animals in need due to space limitations, and for shelters who are unable to turn away animals, extremely tough decisions need to be made. Dogs are forced to share an already small kennel with two, sometimes three, other dogs. There are dogs in kennels in the hallways and otherwise "open" space that was never meant to house them. Workers and volunteers are exhausted due to the long and tedious hours and are experiencing emotional turmoil as well.
What can you do? Foster! Foster homes are in critical need. Every shelter and every rescue can use foster homes. This allows them to get their wonderful dogs into a loving home for a period of time, while they continue to save more lives. If you can open your home to a foster dog in need, please apply to become a foster and begin your journey ASAP!
Dogs featured: Dede from Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center, Faith from Cody's Friends Rescue, Tacoma from Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center and Georgie from Legacy Humane Society.
