Starting something new!

Studio Moddison is now closed.

Those words are bittersweet. Yet I celebrate them with joy.

Studio Moddison was a gift, given to me by a loving and faithful Father who knows how to give perfect gifts. A gift given during a time I had no idea what my future held.

Yet, He did.

I never dreamed of being an entrepreneur. I used to say, I never wanted to work at a desk or a computer. Then my world turned upside down and all the dreams I had for my life and my career were shattered beyond any ability to glue back together. And that is where a faithful Father showed up and gathered the dust, breathing life into the scattered mess.

Studio Moddison was a path that I walked, one step at a time. Along the way, you all joined me. You walked with me as I learned and grew. You allowed me into your callings, into your passions, into your businesses. I partnered with you and got to see the joy and passion you feel as you follow your dreams.

As you made a difference in your circles.

Thank you. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for being mentors, co-laborers, counselors, clients and friends.

As 2023 comes to a close, I want to extend to every one of you my deepest gratitude.

You were a gift given. And during this season of gifts, I wish to tell you thank you. May your Christmas be bright and your 2024 dreams realized.

P.S. For those who haven't heard of my journey this last year, my path has taken a new turn but I have not left the field of design. I am now the Communications Director at Parkway Christian Center. Working in a church environment and helping to spread the Gospel in new and amazing ways. Something I was doing a little of before, but now in a full time position. This new calling on my life has allowed me to walk into a new season and with that, the need to close my business.

God Speaks

Its been a little quiet at Studio Moddison the last few months. In November I walked into a new position as Communications Director, full time. It’s been an amazing ride and the work I do serves a purpose that is greater than me.

It’s been a week since I’ve been home from the Dream Conference in Phoenix AZ. There was a lot to download.

I heard God’s confirmations.
I heard His charge.
I learned to DREAM about things I’ve never dreamed about before.
I DARED to dream BIGGER than I ever have before.

I’m still here. But by the end of 2023 I’ll be closing the doors to Studio Moddison.

This work. My clients. The partnerships. Have been some of the most amazing blessings and answers to prayers. An amazing gift from God.

But this next step requires a step of ALL IN. And I’m ready.

I’m walking into my calling.

- Cut the ropes. No Plan B. (Act 27:30-32)
- Don’t find yourself standing in the right location but facing the wrong direction. (Ezekiel 8:16)
- Confess Jesus. Reflect Jesus. Don’t go AWOL from Christ (Luke 6:46)
- Strike the ground UNTIL!! Strike until He says it’s done. Don’t stop. Don’t give up. (2 Kings 18-19)
- Remember we are WARRIORS. The armor of God has no back because we were meant to run TOWARDS the enemy not AWAY!
- What got you HERE won’t get you to the top. Leave the donkey HERE you don’t need it. Don’t live your life on the last answered prayer. I AM going UP the mountain (Genesis 22:1-14)
- What is stirring in me now is only a sample of what is to become the standard. There is no future without a fight. Joshua blessed Caleb with a battle. IM NOT FINISHED YET. (Joshua 14:6-12).

41 is going to be amazing. I’m leaving 40 years behind of growth and maturing and well. Things. I am so grateful for all I’ve been blessed with the last 40 years. Amazing family. Friends. Two handsome young men. My home. My journey with God.

Typography is a way to make the language we speak, visible. ​​​​​​​​

The written word and letter forms become a way to express personality. It can create volume, hierarchy, and a clear flow of ideas. ​​​​​​​​

It can also create confusion and difficulty in understanding (and, let's be honest, be down right offensive - I'm looking at you and ). ​​​​​​​​

Each letterform has a shape. It creates a visual detail that can be either distracting or complimenting to your design. ​​​​​​​​

This is true in the typography for your logo and in your supporting fonts. (hint, just because it's in your logo, doesn't mean you have to use that font in your marketing materials). ​​​​​​​​
