This is a difficult time for us. Thank you all for your support and understanding.

We will be operating temporarily with a limited staff, and the front door will remain locked. Many of you have already heard about the devastating house fire we experienced yesterday, which was caused by a lightning strike. We sincerely appreciate each and every one of you for reaching out to us during this difficult time. Your overwhelming support means the world to us. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Everyone wants to complain about the cost of auto repair… but very few stop to think about what actually goes into it.

A modern automotive technician isn’t just “turning wrenches.” They’re diagnosing complex electrical systems, reading live data streams, programming modules, rebuilding engines, and working with tolerances measured in thousandths.

In many ways, a technician is closer to a doctor than what people picture when they think of a mechanic.

When you go to the doctor, you don’t argue about the cost of the MRI machine.
You don’t question the years of training.
You don’t bring parts you bought on Amazon and ask them to install them.

But somehow when it comes to automotive shops, people think it’s acceptable to question every dollar, accuse shops of “ripping them off,” or expect endless free help.

Standing at the counter talking for 20 minutes?
Diagnosing problems over the phone?
Answering a dozen technical questions?

That time isn’t free either.

Our knowledge, experience, and time are part of the service just like any other skilled profession.

Here’s the reality nobody wants to talk about…

Good technicians are leaving the industry.

Why? Because they’re tired of being treated like their skills and time have no value.

Shops have massive overhead.
Equipment costs tens or hundreds of thousands.
Scan tools, software subscriptions, lifts, diagnostic equipment, insurance, and constant training.

Yet people still expect 2005 prices in a 2026 world.

If the industry keeps getting treated like this, one day people are going to wake up and realize something…

There aren’t any good shops left.

And when that happens, the same people who complained about the price will be begging someone-anyone-to fix their vehicle.

Respect the trades.
Respect skilled labor.
Respect people’s time.

Because one day… there might not be many of us left.

Brads Snider’s mystic paint 97 Cobra with polished aftermarket wheels. It made 425 RWHP today, 9 psi Vortech non inter-cooled on 93 octane pump gas, and 15 degrees total timing.

Before it left today I shot some photos of it and worked my magic with the STL Arch in background.
