There is a lot to be said for work that grows on you over time.
Featured today: "Osprey with Dinner"
Take a stroll around the gallery and let me know your thoughts.
While walking in Redbrook, Plymouth, MA in early April, I suddenly noticed this big guy flying overhead. The sun was bright and the shadow dark, so I didn't know at first that he had dinner. When I lightened this shot in Lightroom I discovered his catch.

What has your art collection taught you?
Not about art history or markets but about your own taste, your spaces, the way you spend your attention.
"Great Blue Heron practicing his Mating Dance" is part of an ongoing conversation on my side of the screen.
I would genuinely like to hear what you have learned.

June is a good month to give some attention to a wall that has been waiting.
"Proud Wood Duck Drake" is available now and ready to find its home.
The colorful Male Wood Ducks, especially in their beautiful breeding plumage, tend to shy, and are not easily found in Northern Indiana. I was excited to see this one swimming on St Mary's Lake at Notre Dame University. They details you can see on a larger print are really wonderful.

Happy Father's Day. To the fathers, the father figures, the ones who showed up in whatever form that took. Cheers.
Featuring "Bald Eagle Stare" today in the gallery.

Every collection starts somewhere. Could "Curious Young Racoon" be the next chapter in yours?
On the shore of St Mary's Lake at the University of Notre Dame there is a tall dead tree with a hole near the top. Look who was peeking out one day!

When people move house, they make a hierarchy without realizing it.
Some things get donated, some get stored, some make the journey regardless of whether they make logical sense in the new space.
Art almost always travels. It is rarely the practical choice that moves with you. It is the things that meant something. Has that been true for you?
What have you moved more than once, and would "Lone Seal in the North River" make that list?

Some rooms are one decision away from being right.
"Osprey Launch" is worth considering as that decision. If a certain room immediately comes to mind, it might be worth exploring.
Osprey launching into a dive from above the St Joseph River in Elkhart, IN. He ended up swimming for his dinner, and was rewarded with a rather large carp.

People sometimes feel they need to be able to articulate why they want a particular work before they are allowed to buy it. That is not how it works.
The attraction does not need a defense. You do not have to be able to explain Great Blue Heron in the Mist to someone who asks; you just have to know it belongs in your space.
The explanation, if you want one, tends to arrive later on its own.
