West Roots Tree Service , Chase Walters granted us wood chips from his tree chip truck. It is amazing that now we can continue to expand our growing areas. πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š 🌿🌱

New Garden Foresters Tanya Martin and her daughter received a tour so they can join us on our Thursday work nights. Matthew Schremser and Linda Jaworowski Bush planted several new items, 2 huckleberries, 2 thimble berries, 2 Lingon berries, 2 hardy kiwi, and seeds of pumpkins, and blue hubbard squash, all fresh from Jonathan Levanduski Farms. We also planted some glass gem corn, a few milkweed, marigolds and sage.

Birthday Wishes do come true, I asked my family to come plant at the garden. They were incredible Garden Foresters!!!
We planted more 3 Sisters gardens, added peppers, tomato companion plants, some creeping thyme, pumpkins, and some black eyed Susan flowers for the border. Amazing day spending time with my family, and a great lunch after. Thank you Kristy Dool, Keysha & Adam Hanes, along with grandkids.πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š

Our work night at the garden, was very productive thanks to Linda Jaworowski Bush and Matthew Schremser, it was a warm one. We planted, donated tomato plants, peppers and marigolds in the veggie part of the garden. We added a cherry bush, and 2 native Michigan Huckleberry bushes to keep growing our variety of bushes. Matthew pulled an amazing amount of weeds and he started the chop & drop with comfrey and tarragon. These plants are grown to cut them and use the stems and leaves to fertilize the soil around plants and bushes throughout the food forest. Lavender looks great too.
