Throughout this year, I have received many messages from refugees that we’ve helped with housing, food, travel costs, art, or medical support.
They’ve moved on to other European countries, and never forgot about the small kindnesses Love Without Borders - For Refugees In Need was able to offer them.
I never forgot them either, because they became my family, and my friends.
At the end of the year, you will be able to read the stories of dozens of people who have moved on. So many lovely stories to share.
A sneak peak today because I was overjoyed to hear from the family today. They received their Finnish citizenship 🎊. They’re from Syria, and it’s the very first family we helped in Greece. They now have three children, and although the winter weather is a bit challenging, they have a house, jobs, and the children are going to school and speak fluent Finnish.
I hope next year, that I can start to visit some of the families in Germany.
The time in Nea Kavala was the most challenging for them. They had to live in tents and didn’t have enough food for their children, but somehow in the corner of these camps, we shared stories, hugs, tears, and laughter .
We will never forget the times we shared together. We made it through together.
