“The Flagrant Cane” was sparked by literature about cannabis that I was reading during a slow day at work. I’ve worked in cannabis for over 5 years now and have had a relationship with this plant for most of my life and have always had a critical viewpoint of how our federal government handles this plant. A chapter of a book I was reading was titled “The Flagrant Cane” and I found that to be an interesting way to refer to cannabis. It put a lightbulb in my head to work on an EP inspired by cannabis in some way. This eventually blossomed into a full project incorporating 1930s ma*****na propaganda into a 5 track selection of a verity of genres within the electronic spectrum. Sampling vocals from different pieces of propaganda from that time period, it’s paired with gritty sound design and a play on how cannabis was demonized but how it is looked at now in 2026 with it being legal medically in over 40 of 50 states in America.

Truly one of the best nights of music I’ve heard since Tipper at Orion. To be apart of that lineup was super special!!! I’m beyond grateful for all the new support & friends I meet. What an amazing weekend! Can’t wait to do it again..

Next in the list is finishing my 2nd EP checklist before release as my masters are back and I’m finishing up the final physical media for purchase on release! I will also be gearing up for festival season as we start to release dates.
