Erik Nielsen is the owner and founder of Strike First Protection. His background is weapons, defensive tactics and security.

He is an 22+ year veteran of the Michigan Department of Corrections, with 20+ of those years on the Emergency Response Team. Strike First Protection is multifaceted, with education being our primary goal with tactics being secondary. The education goal focuses on teaching individuals situational awareness, helping to prevent attacks. This goal is something we live by and is expressed in our busine

ss moto: “An ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure”. We want individuals to be proficient and feel more confident with their skills should an attack occur. This encompasses a wide variety of both lethal and non-lethal skills. Classes we offer teaching both lethal and non-lethal skills are:
- Weapons classes, private classes upon request:
* Basic Fundamentals of Pistol shooting;
* CPL Certification courses;
* Tactical Shooting skills with movement.

- Self Defense classes:
*These sessions can either be as a private group or individual instruction. We also provide Personal/Executive Protection. About the Owner:

Erik Nielsen is the owner and founder of Strike First Protection. His background is in weapons and defensive tactics as well as personal/executive protection services. Erik is an 22+ year veteran of the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), with 20 of those years on the Emergency Response Team (ERT). He has worked at a Maximum Security prison for 20 of the 24+ years working for the DOC. With more than 20 years training for the department, he is a master trainer for the State and ERT. Those areas include: Weapons (Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun), Defensive Tactics, Use of Force and Arrest Law with extensive background and experience in training. Erik has been the MDOC's Emergency Response Team state commander now for 5+ years. Erik is a certified and credentialed, Executive Protection Agent. Some of the high profile protection details he has written and served on were for 2 different Governor's of the State of Michigan as well as the Attorney General and Secretary of State. Erik has a loving and supportive family consisting of a wife and two young daughters. His wife is also a vital part of the business working as the marketing Vice President. In his free time, Erik enjoys spending time competing in weapon shooting contests, exercising, boating, and outdoor activities with his family. Strike First Protection is BACK! We stepped back from the business for personal reasons and have only run a few private events. By popular DEMAND, we are so EXCITED to announce we will be offering new dates for self defense and CPL classes! The owner Erik Nielsen is working on some exciting new options for businesses and is always available for personal classes to help with self defense, some choose to have the classes right in the comfort of their own home or business!
