Recently, a participant shared these words with us.

It was a simple reminder that encouragement matters.

A conversation.

A check-in.

Someone taking the time to listen.

Who can you encourage in this way today?

Some of life's greatest growth comes through the trials we never expected.

Sabbath Scripture June 13, 2026: James 1:2-3

Over the past few weeks, we've shared pieces of the story behind Community Command Center.

Two different losses.

Brandon.
Amanda.

Two different kinds of pain.

Grief.
Unspoken.

One shared purpose.

Helping others discover direction, hope, and strength.
Turning life challenges into resilience.

This is the foundation of Community Command Center.

And the heart of this series.

That our deepest struggles can give rise to:

Clarity.
Conviction.
Cause.

And become the reason someone else keeps going.

Pain into purpose.

When life feels overwhelming, where do you turn?

Sabbath Scripture: June 6, 2026

06/03/2026

Some scars can't be seen.

They don't show up in photographs.
They don't always have a name.
And often, the people carrying them become very good at hiding them.

In 2016, I lost my sister Amanda.

We grew up together during some of the most formative years of my life.

Her loss left a profound sadness that remains with me today.

How easy it is to miss what others may be carrying.

How some pain is obvious.

And some pain remains hidden until it's too late...

The struggles we never talk about.
The battles others can't see.
The wounds people carry while the world assumes they're okay.

Sometimes the deepest scars go unnoticed.

Behind a smile.
Behind a busy schedule.
Behind the words,
"I'm fine."

That's why we listen a little longer.

Why we look a little deeper.

Why we meet people where they are.

Because pain doesn't have to be the end of the story.

Pain into purpose.

Protect Your Heart | Proverbs 4:23
Narration by Carlos Rodriguez.

05/27/2026

Some pain leaves scars.

Not the kind that disappear.
The kind a person learns to carry.

In 2016, Carlos lost his son Brandon during the beginning of the fentanyl crisis — before most people understood how quickly families could lose someone they loved.

That loss changed everything.

For a long time, the grief was overwhelming.
There were moments where simply making it through the day felt impossible.

But somewhere in the middle of that darkness, something began to change.

Through grief, faith, and a deeply personal spiritual experience, the pain that once consumed Carlos slowly began turning into:

compassion for people carrying silent battles,

understanding for those searching for relief in destructive places,

and a desire to help others find hope before hopelessness takes hold.

What began as heartbreak became the foundation of Community Command Center.

Not because the pain disappeared.
But because healing gave that pain a new direction.

Brandon’s life continues to impact the mission behind everything we do.

Pain into purpose.

Pain into Purpose: Sabbath Scripture May 23, 2026. Original narration by Carlos Rodriguez.

05/20/2026

Some pain changes the course of a person’s life forever.

Not because the pain disappears.
But because surviving it changes who they become.

There are struggles that test endurance.
Moments that leave people questioning how they are supposed to keep moving forward at all.

But sometimes, in the middle of that struggle, something else begins to take shape:
perseverance,
compassion,
purpose,
and the ability to stand beside someone else in their darkest moment and honestly say,
“I understand.”

Community Command Center was built from that place.

Not from perfect circumstances.
But from the belief that hardship can produce strength.

That our deepest struggles can become part of someone else’s hope.

Pain into purpose.
