Moss is Michigan's leader of single-source solutions for audio video, cabling, fleet management, managed services, networks, paging and mass notification, security, and unified communications for business, education, and healthcare clients.
We are seeking a Security Installation Technician to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Essential Functions:
-Install and service, integrated and complex commercial access and video systems according to system specifications
-Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
-Install and terminate access control panels, rfid card readers, electronic strikes, and IP security cameras
-Troubleshoot and diagnose low voltage electrical circuits
-Solve technical problems / issues as they arise, and implement solutions accordingly
General Functions:
-Complies with company policies, procedures, and safety standards and ensures the compliance of others.
-Works, dresses, and communicates in a professional manner that enhances the company’s reputation in our industry.
-Cleans, maintains, and inventories assigned company vehicles and tools.
-Maintain accurate documentation of work performed according to industry guidelines.
-Follows directions accurately and perform tasks as efficiently as possible.
-Operate Company machinery on behalf of the team (trucks, lifts, etc.)
-Actively support and foster an environment that encourages employee development
-Stay current on all assigned trainings, certifications, licensing, and client safety requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Skilled in installing and programming cameras and access control systems. Effective interpersonal skills necessary to verbally communicate with customer and coworkers. Clean driving record.
Preference given to candidate with working knowledge of IP networks and how security devices interact with them.
Physical Demands:
Climbs ladders, scaffolding and stairs. Occasionally lifts objects up to 75 pounds. Occasional extended periods (2-3 hours) of driving.
Schedule and Work Location:
Occasional office environment with majority of work performed at customer sites. Customer work environments may be inside or outside and includes new construction, renovations, clean-room areas, and general office areas.
Works all hours required to complete day to day required activities. Majority of work performed Monday - Friday, 7 am – 5 pm with frequent before or after-hours work and occasional weekend work during peak season.

The Network Engineer is responsible for all implementation aspects of the wireless/networking projects assigned, including supervising the installation, final configuration, operation, and on-going maintenance of network systems hardware and software components for all network clients.
-Ability to design and deploy LAN/WAN switching and routing solutions with security as number one priority.
-Installation and proper wireless LAN solutions including traditional access points and controller-based solutions.
